How the projection plan works
Throw distance is the screen width times the lens throw ratio (distance = width × ratio). A zoom lens gives a range, so the simulator shows where you can mount the projector. If your available distance falls outside that range, it recommends a lens family instead —required ratio = available distance ÷ width.
Brightness is the target nits times the screen area times π divided by gain (lumens = nits × area × π ÷ gain). The ambient-light presets pick a sensible nit target (50 dark, 150 dim, 300 lit, 500 bright). Lens shift moves the image vertically by height × shift%.
