LED Wall vs Projection: Which Fits Your Project?
LED walls and projectors solve the same problem — a big image — in opposite ways. One is bright and durable, the other affordable and flexible. The right answer depends on your room and budget.
The trade-off in one line
An LED wall is bright (1,500–6,000 nits), visible in full daylight, and lasts 100,000 hours — but costs far more for the same screen area. A projector covers the same area for a fraction of the price but needs a dark room and periodic lamp or laser care.
When to choose an LED wall
Choose LED for daylight environments, permanent installations, retail and lobbies, or where the screen must be seamless and maintenance-free. Pixel pitch (P1.2–P4) sets both sharpness and price: smaller pitch means sharper, closer viewing and higher cost.
When projection wins
Projection wins for dark home theaters and conference rooms, for very large images on a budget, and where you want to move or reuse the equipment. Compare your exact case with the LED Wall Planner and Projection Planner side by side.
Frequently asked questions
Is an LED wall always sharper than a projector?
Not necessarily — a 4K projector at the right distance can look sharper than a low-resolution LED wall. Pixel pitch decides LED sharpness; compare both in the planners.
Which costs more to run?
LED walls draw more power up front but last about 100,000 hours. Projectors are cheaper to buy but need lamps (or laser servicing) over time.
