About Aurora IPX (SDVoE)
Aurora Multimedia IPX is an SDVoE-based AV-over-IP series delivering 4K60 4:4:4 with zero-frame latency over 10 GbE.
IPX transmitters and receivers bring SDVoE’s near-lossless quality to Aurora’s control and AV ecosystem, used in medical, government and corporate installs where pixel-perfect 4K matters.
As SDVoE, the bitrate is the raw signal divided by ≈12:1. A 4K60 4:4:4 source is about 11.94 Gbps raw and roughly 995 Mbps on the wire — one stream per 10 GbE port.
Worked example
A 4K60 4:4:4 signal is 11.9 Gbps raw; Aurora IPX’s SDVoE codec compresses it about 12:1, so the stream is about 995.3 Mbps on 10 GbE.

Is IPX proprietary?
It runs the open SDVoE codec, but Aurora’s control and management layer is Aurora-specific.
Why does IPX need 10 GbE?
The low compression keeps a 4K60 stream at ~1 Gbps, which exceeds 1 GbE.
What is the difference between raw and stream bitrate?
Raw is the uncompressed signal (width × height × frame rate × bits per pixel); stream is what the codec actually puts on the wire after compression. The compression ratio is raw ÷ stream.
What do 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 mean?
They describe chroma subsampling — how much colour detail is kept relative to brightness. 4:4:4 keeps full colour (3× bit depth per pixel), 4:2:2 keeps two-thirds, and 4:2:0 keeps half (1.5×).
