About Kramer (SDVoE)
Kramer’s SDVoE line (KDS-EN7 encoder / KDS-DE7 decoder) delivers near-lossless 4K60 4:4:4 over 10 GbE using the SDVoE standard.
Kramer builds its high-end AV-over-IP endpoints on the SDVoE chipset, giving 4K60 4:4:4 with zero-frame latency over 10 GbE. It is used where quality cannot be compromised — auditoriums, control rooms and high-end corporate spaces.
Because it is SDVoE, the bitrate is the raw signal divided by ≈12:1. A 4K60 4:4:4 source is about 11.94 Gbps raw and roughly 995 Mbps on the wire, so each endpoint occupies a 10 GbE port.
Worked example
A 4K60 4:4:4 signal is 11.9 Gbps raw; Kramer’s SDVoE codec compresses it about 12:1, so the stream is about 995.3 Mbps on a 10 GbE link.

What is the difference between raw and stream bitrate?
Raw is the uncompressed signal (width × height × frame rate × bits per pixel); stream is what the codec actually puts on the wire after compression. The compression ratio is raw ÷ stream.
What do 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 mean?
They describe chroma subsampling — how much colour detail is kept relative to brightness. 4:4:4 keeps full colour (3× bit depth per pixel), 4:2:2 keeps two-thirds, and 4:2:0 keeps half (1.5×).
